Wow What a waste of money that lock system is! I really wanted to like it too haha but really, when paper can open it or a bobby pin in a hole on the OUTSIDE portion lol that's a big nope for me. I'll take a cheap under $10 deadlock thanks !

yeah intentional drill spot, so if you lose your finger, your keychain with your RFID tag, and get amnesia so you don't know the PIN, your locksmith can open it for you

  • 88119966
    88119966

i think the dimple is intentional, there needs to be a way to open the lock that has failed. especially since there is no physical key.

An expensive high tech lock shouldn't ship without a guard latch, allowing a very unsophisticated bypass. As Jayne Cobb said, "This is dissapointing as hell."

  • Marko

"For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 Only Jesus is the way to Heaven and be saved from hell. "But God commendeth His love toward us. In that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6 Have you confessed Jesus as your LORD and Savior? You must confess Him as your LORD believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead to be saved from eternal damnation in Hell and be able to go to Heaven. "That if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." 1 John 5:7

The DATA of those buyers of such products is on the WEB in the AWS (Amazon Cloud) So under a serious civil threat with armed militia you can enter all those on the shopping list as though there were no barriers meaning no skilled Theifs but lowest of the low can be given the addresses and information on how to enter.

It's funny cause everytime you show these videos, people are more prone to theft, so they gotta ditch their lock, and go buy a new one XD Iv spent like $200 on locks this year alone, cause i saw you tearing those master ones apart, then you did it with another brand i had, and i was like damnit! Everytime i buy a new lock LPL shows the world how to break into it in 30 seconds. Good stuff though! I would never trust those digital ones though, they can be hacked in seconds.

Surely the knob with the small hole is on the inside? Like a safety override to unlock. He says it’s on the outside but the print reader would be outside? Unless you’re trying to lock yourself in to a house/room ?

Another great example of someone (like a designer/manufacturer) of a product touting themselves as a "professional" when they don't even know the basics. Missteps in the basics can (such as here) make everything that comes after kind of pointless and, even worse; DANGEROUS!

any pro installing one of these you would hope shows you how it can be bypassed and offers the relevant upgrade part. but most installers dont know anything but how to install so they cant tell you about these defects. i think a simple addition to training on how these can be opened with a paperclip or thin feeler gauge would be sufficient to train people on what to lookout for when installing any lock

“Smart Locks” ... not on any door I own. Just a trendy silly gadget. Just buy a reasonable quality normal lock, does not even need to cost hundreds of dollars. Then get an alarm with cell service, cameras and a dog. If you have reasonably congenial neighbors you should be fine.

I actually have quite the issue with the charging port for the knob being on the EXTERIOR portion of the unit, without any weatherproofing material. “Sorry, you can’t charge your doorknob anymore because water / humidity corroded the charging port on your doorknob. Oh and also, it’s 2020 and we still installed a MicroUSB port on there because #reasons.

Slipping method can be greatly reduced with a multi fold frame. Locks aren't intended to stop everyone from gaining access they are intended to stop categories of people. Namely criminals of opportunity. Little can be done against criminals of strategy and intent. Doors can be breached access can be granted. Electronic locks are superior to mechanical locks for the simple fact that lock picking tools are easily available.

In my experience.. The more high tech something is, the more low tech you need to bypass it... You showed it brilliantly with a piece of plastic... It doesnt get more low tech than that... That is really embarrassing for the manufacturerer.

It actually seems like a good product. The dead latch issue is definitely something that needs to be rectified but as for the dimple,. Guessing that was intentional in case the unit fails so that the lock can still be bypassed and replaced. Surely if a would be burgler is drilling your locks then you are looking at a home insurance claim anyway... As thats a fairly determined thief at that point.

Whats sad is a lot more people are using these kinds of locks. Basically the companies are taking advantage of people who do not understand technology(or the consumers are out of touch, or both). The consumer thinks "wow fingerprint? must be 10x better because electronics". Without realizing the constant shitshow of these cookie cutter "new-age" locks that has been plaguing us for awhile. Obviously there are great tech locks out there(mostly for the business sector and not home use), however these require a hefty price tag.

This lock is clearly designed for Hotels. It seems that the lack of total security is a design featue, since it allows for easy access to a room, while guaranteeing sense of privacy, with tons of flexibility. The actual security is done by cameras in the corridors, professional security staff in the lobby and safes inside the rooms.
